If you’re anything like moi then your living room is probably one of the hardest working rooms in your house, as it needs to manage relaxing/working/chilling/entertaining and be cosy, comfy and glam all at once. You want to create a space that’s just as perfect for early morning emails over coffee or netflix binging as it is for hosting a late night soiree. This is the most public room in the house so I think we all feel a lot of pressure to show off all our style and personality. As you probably all know by now, my tip for pulling this off while still staying sophisticated is to keep a tightly curated colour palette. There’s a very fine line between intoxicatingly eclectic and flat out crazy! This is how you tread the right side of it.
So it’s no surprise that all my favourite living rooms above play with amazing colour palettes. There’s a whole rainbow from enveloping rich neutrals to fiery reds, sea green, glam burgundies and bright blues. There’s tried and tested palettes like blacks and greens (a fave combo of mine) and some really out there combinations that have got me thinking differently about colour. In a nutshell, these places are next level for me because they marry different styles, intoxicating hues, quirky with timeless, overdose on texture and push the envelope every time. Tantalisingly beautiful.
Also if you’re looking for a little procrastination (hey it’s nearly the holidays), all my round up posts for every room in the house can be found here. So many gorgeous spaces, so little time!
